In DC for the night and wanted something quick and easy. We were met at the door by a smiling face!!! Drink order was taken immediately and recommendations given by our waiter. Food promptly was delivered within 5-8 min and was superb and delicious!!! We had a burger and a chicken sandwich and after 3 minutes into eating not a word was spoken!!!! That tells you if no one’s talking the food is on point!!!!! Highly recommend this place!!! Thick cut fries were awesome to boot with the South African spices!!!!
Also, the bathroom was clean!!!!
I got the mumbo bun chicken sandwich and from the first bite it was incredible tasty! The chicken on the sandwich was quite delicious & juicy but the sauces that go on top added a boatload of flavor. There was a tangy coleslaw that added texture & flavor too. The fries were $8 which is pricey but they were good. Overall I was very pleased with this meal and I’ll definitely be back’
The waiter Danny is super cool 😎 friendly. Like the chill relaxing music while the wait for the food. There wasn’t draft beer but got talked into this beer that was in the movie Jaws !! Thanks for the great food, clean restaurant and service!! Hope you enjoy your meal as much as we have. …
Absolutely delicious I’ve been going to this place for over 5+ years. These are old videos, but everything was amazing.
I would recommend this place to anybody who wants a good burger in DC
Lucky buns is A1 service it’s phenomenal. It is a great atmosphere especially in the summertime. Do not sleep on this place. Meaning you need to go here ASAP.
This is for the Union Market location since there’s no separate pinned location for Lucky Buns
The OG burger is solid through and through! I’ve never had Gouda on a burger and that combined with the mustard created a great flavor combo. Also shoutout to whoever was on the grill because they nailed medium rare. The only knock on the burger was actually my mistake because I subbed grilled onions for red. The flavor was great but it was mostly one large strip of onion (almost like an unbattered onion ring) that slid out of the sandwich upon first bite. Not a deal breaker but worth noting
In terms of price they’re a little on the higher end but I will say the quality of ingredients matches the price point. I would definitely hit them up again
Got here and had the the Braai Chips, they didn't have much flavor to them, tasted like regular fries would not reccomend. Had the Alfies bun burger and it was solid, didn't wow me in any way. Also ended up getting the Hot tiger Bun chicken sandwich and my GAWD was that a great chicken sandwich. Definitely would reccomend trying for sure. Also had the Huracan and Orange cursh drinks, and they were very solid. The server we had was great and very helpful and informative. The ambiance was ok as well. Ita corner store so it's kinda small. In my opinion this a good place to gran a bite to eat and start/continue pregaming for a night out. Overall a solid place and would reccomend. It is more of a causal sit down place fyi
I am on the quest to find all of the great burgers in DC. I was pretty excited to try the burger and I felt as if the hype was somewhat warranted. The service wasn’t great. The food took a long time to come. The waiter was an interesting fellow, was unique in his own sense. This place is still worth checking out though.
After a long travel delay on our flight from Milwaukee, our party of four was lucky enough to find Lucky Buns and to be served by Danny. We all ordered differently from chicken nugs and a sandwich to a burger and veggie burger. All were excellent. Danny's cheerful service made our late night meal unforgettable. Cute place, too.
